1962

Silver Hill Farm is founded by the Steele family, in Emyvale, Co. Monaghan starting out with just six top quality ducks.  Over time these were developed into a unique breed, the Silver Hill Duck.

1972

Silver Hill Farm sent our first order of the increasingly popular Silver Hill duck to Germany.  Silver Hill also won the prestigious Irish Export Award in the same year.

1979

A state of the art Feather Plant is constructed to produce premium Duck Down Duvet & Pillows. These will in time become the preferred choice for 4 & 5 star hotels worldwide.

1984

A new hatchery & breeding farms are built in different local locations to meet growing demand of the Silver Hill Duck.

1984

A milestone moment. Silver Hill Farm sold its first load into Chinatown London. This paved the way for our company to become the number 1 supplier of Head On Duck to the Chinese UK Market for the next 30 years.

2007

We celebrate 45 years in business with our ever expanding customer base from all around the world.

2013

Ireland is the first country in the world to introduce a sustainability program for the food industry. Silver Hill Farm becomes a founding member of Bord Bia’s Origin Green Sustainability Scheme.

2014

A major breakthrough in the Asian Market sees Silver Hill begin exporting to the Singapore Market. Hong Kong & Macau soon follow and Silver Hill Farm are now selling into over 30 countries worldwide.

2015

Supplying over 800 Irish & UK Supermarket outlets daily with our wide range of duck products, Silver Hill Farm is now the fastest growing product in the poultry category in both markets.

2016

A new Centre of Excellence is opened in Emyvale, Co. Monaghan, our home since 1962. This has allowed us to meet growing demand at home & abroad and make significant investment in expanding our workforce.

2017

Silver Hill Farm won the prestigious Bord Bia Export Award for our success in overseas markets. A fantastic achievement for our outstanding and dedicated team of employees.

2018

Our popular range of Retail Products are Annual Award Winners at Food Awards such as Blas Na hEireann, Irish Quality Food Awards and the Great Taste Awards.
